Description
Junmai Daiginjo Ran-Orchid is a special sake first brewed to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Singapore-Japan bilateral ties. Alluding to Singapore’s Vanda Miss Joaquim, it is brewed with yeast extracted from the Cattleya orchid flower – a technique usable by only 30 out of more than 1000 breweries in Japan.
First-grade Omachi rice, made specifically for sake brewing, is refined down to 50% and brewed with the waters of the Sanbuichi water springs – a famed sake water source recorded in the top 100 water sources in Japan (名水百選) to create this brew.
The orchid yeast lends the brew a floral flourish, with a strong, full body reminiscent of Singapore as a country.
Please enjoy this masterpiece, born from interplay between Takenoi brewery’s cutting-edge brewing technique, their 150 year long tradition and the rich nature that surrounds them in the Yatsugatake mountain range in Yamanashi, Japan.
